What is the difference between an Insurance product and a Takaful product?
Both Insurance and Takaful products aim to provide you with protection to yourself, family, vehicles, homes, valuables, company and more. The only difference is that Takaful products and plans are guided by the Islamic principles. However, Takaful products are open for people from all religions and are not solely for Muslims. Whether you choose to take an Insurance plan or a Takaful plan, the most important thing is that you take up a protection plan that you are comfortable with and suits your current and future needs.
What do I need to purchase an Insurance or Takaful plan?
Before you make that call or visit to us, think about what you need to protect or cover and you future needs. For Life Insurance and Family Takaful products, all you need to bring is your identity card and fill in the proposal form with our agents or at our branches.You may be required to do a health check in some cases. For General Insurance and Takaful products, you may need to bring all relevant legal documents for your home, vehicles, company/businesses and others, depending on what you need to protect.
What if I need to make a claim?
First, make sure you have all your Insurance or Takaful documents with you. In some minor cases, you may not need them and can settle your claim over the telephone without documentations. However, in other instances, you need to show some proof and that is why it is good to be prepared with the relevant documents such as your policy and receipts.
