How Flight Delay Compensation Is Calculated?

With Etiqa TripCare 360 Insurance/Takaful, you'll be compensated for flight delays of 2 hours or more. Refer to the tables below for the compensation rates for both individual and family plans.

Scenario 1: Individual Plan

Siti purchased/signed up for an Individual Gold Plan under Etiqa TripCare 360 for an upcoming trip. She received updates that her flight would be delayed.
- - If the delay is 1 hour from the original flight time:
  - Siti will not receive any compensation.
- - If the delay is 5 hours from the original flight time:
  - Siti will receive an initial compensation of RM100
  - (Refer to the “Initial Compensation” column in Table 1)
- - If the delay is 9 hours from the original flight time:
  - Siti will receive: RM100 (Initial Compensation) + RM250 (Additional Compensation) = RM350
  - (Refer to the “Additional Compensation” column in Table 1)
- - For every additional 6-hour delay thereafter:
  - Siti will receive RM250 for each additional 6-hour period until she reaches the maximum compensation of RM2,000
  - (Refer to the “Maximum Compensation” column in Table 1)

Scenario 2: Family Plan

Siti purchased/signed up for a Family Gold Plan under Etiqa TripCare 360 covering 4 family members including herself. She received updates that her flight would be delayed.
